Church Family,

I just wanted to take a few minutes and share how excited I am about what’s happening at First Baptist!

First, thank you, Lane, for doing such a great job Sunday as he shared the third message in our What It Means To Be A Member series— “I Serve.”

Lane reminded us that we all have something to offer. Serving isn’t just for pastors, deacons, teachers, or the people whose names appear in the bulletin. God has given every one of us gifts, abilities, and opportunities to make a difference. Church isn’t just a place where we come to receive—it’s a place where we get to serve.

And this Sunday is going to be special!

We’re going to celebrate two baptisms! I can’t think of many things more exciting for a church family than seeing people publicly say, “I have decided to follow Jesus.” These are the moments we should celebrate!

We’ll also wrap up our series with “I GO.”

Over the last few weeks we’ve talked about:

I BELONG.
I GROW.
I SERVE.
And now...I GO.

Because ultimately, what God does in us was never meant to stop with us.

I’ve also loved seeing new faces at First Baptist lately. Keep inviting! Sometimes we make inviting someone to church much harder than it needs to be. A simple, “Hey, why don’t you come sit with me Sunday?” might be exactly the invitation someone needs.

Remember that empty chair we started this series with?

There’s still a seat waiting.

And there may be someone in your life who needs to be sitting in it.

So don’t miss Sunday. Come ready to celebrate two baptisms, worship together, finish our series, and see what God wants to do next.

And bring somebody with you!

I love being your Interim Pastor. I love seeing what God is doing in our church, and I’m excited about where we’re headed together.
