2026 Marks 34 years of this Ministry
Since its founding in 1993, Operation Christmas Child has distributed over 232 million shoebox gifts in more than 170 countries & territories to children living in destitute conditions. Sponsored by Samaritan's Purse International, a non-profit Christian Organization based in Boone, NC, their Ministry responds to the physical and spiritual needs of those in crisis. Operation Christmas Child is all about sharing Jesus Christ through a simple shoebox packed with "gifts of love" - a tangible expression of God's love to children living in a dark world of poverty, war and uncertain futures. Along with the shoebox gift, children receive a booklet in their native language, "The Greatest Gift" explaining the plan of salvation and the love of Jesus Christ. "The Greatest Journey", a 12-lesson discipleship program, is offered to the children "after the shoebox".
