“As pastor of FBC Smithville, it is my vision both for myself but also for the church to get even more involved in the community. I would like to get involved with the youth by partnering with the schools and serving the youth and their families. I also have a huge heart for those who are in bondage to addiction and bringing them the hope that I found in Jesus through His Word and Salvation through Him. Through providing care and discipleship for generational needs and providing a loving family in Christ not only do we see the church growing but we believe together we can  witness the transforming power of the gospel saturate Smithville and Bastrop County.”

Daryl Huff has been serving in ministry leadership positions for the past 15 years.  A call to become a Pastor lead him and his family to sell everything they own and start and serve as 501c3 Disaster Relief Mobile Kitchen, HolyRollers Ministries in Texas and Louisiana for 11 years.  His family served and ministered to over 30,000 people together. During this time, he was ordained as a pastor in 2016 at Marion Baptist Church upon completing an Accelerated Ministry Training Program for Pastors. He took on a full-time Bi-Vocational Pastor Position as the Campus Pastor of a church started by FBC Sutherland Springs called Redeemed Life in 2022, where they have been serving as a pastoral family since.

Theological Questions and Answers on Biblical Beliefs-

The Bible: Tell us how you feel about the value of the Bible to you personally. What do you truly believe about the Bible? Is it the inerrant, infallible, God-breathed Word of God, without error in its original writings?

Pastor Daryl: The Bible has been a light in the darkest of times. It has been the truth that has set me free time and time again. It is the truth of God and not the invention of any man. It is absolutely inerrant, infallible, man-penned but God breathed, and fully without error. I have taught Bible studies to that very fact. It is living, active and speaks.

Explain the Gospel: Who can be saved? What is required for salvation? What happens to those who die without accepting Jesus?

Pastor Daryl: John 3:16-17 'For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." In verse 17 the words might be saved appear. The word might is important as it implies choice. The whosoever is anyone who places their faith in Jesus will be saved. It is faith in Him alone plus nothing that saves. Not faith plus baptism, not faith plus works. Those who die apart from Jesus will by their own volition go to a real hell for all eternity.

Question: Do you preach exegetically (drawing meaning from the text) or eisegetically (reading into the text)? When you preach, do you follow a topical or textual approach, or do you wait for a direct word from the Holy Spirit?

Pastor Daryl:  I am an exegetical preacher. I always say I’m scripture heavy, but that’s better than being scripture-less. I have done topical, textual and always Holy Spirit led.

Question: What is your long-term vision for equipping and edifying the church body? (Ephesians 4:12-13)

Pastor Daryl: Having discipleship classes that guide people into a better understanding of their specific call in fulfilling the great commission. Teaching on spiritual gifts and their power through the Holy Spirit to live out their gifting. Making disciples who make disciples. Encourage one another to go out in the strength and wisdom of God to be the church outside the 4 walls of the church building. Being a part of the community and community activities.
