A Message From Our New Pastor:
Dear Friends and Neighbors of Smithville,
My name is Daryl Huff, and I have recently been honored to serve as the new Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church Smithville. My family and I are grateful to be joining this community, and we are excited to call Smithville home. I am honored to continue to build upon the work that the previous pastor, Michael Murphy, has already established and done so well in loving and serving our community, and the many pastors before him in the 135 year history of FBC Smithville. As I’m sure you already know, First Baptist Church Smithville is a church that cares deeply about this town and the people who live here. Our desire is simple: to love God, to love people, and to serve our community well. Whether you attend church regularly, haven’t been in a while, or have never been at all, there is a seat for you here. My heart as a pastor is to walk alongside people in every season of life—to celebrate joys, to support families, to stand with those who are hurting, and to offer hope through Jesus Christ. We believe the church should be a place of grace, healing, and encouragement, and a church that actively serves its community, not just on Sundays, but every day of the week. Smithville is a special place, and we want to continue being a church that contributes positively to the life of this community. We would love the opportunity to get to know you, serve you, and partner together in caring for our town. I personally invite you to come visit us at First Baptist Church Smithville.
