WMU- Women's Missionary Union

Leader: Jonna Fleming

WMU meets the first Sunday of each month at 4:00 p.m. in the FBC Parlor.

In 1888, a handful of women dedicated to the cause of missions founded Women's Missionary Union. Since that time, WMU® has become the largest Protestant missions' organization in the world, with a membership of approximately 1 million.

From the beginning, WMU®'s main purpose has been to educate & involve women, girls & preschoolers in the cause of Christian missions. Throughout its history, WMU® has been an auxiliary to the Southern Baptist Covention, which means that it acts as a "helper" to the SBC®. The auxiliary status also means that WMU® is self-governing & self-supporting. Our WMU® supports the following organizations through meetings, age-appropriate teaching & magazines.

  • Women on Mission (WMU®), for women 18 & up. Meets the 1st Sunday of each month.
